About Andres Santo Domingo
Andres Santo Domingo is a well-known philanthropist and New York City socialite. Andres and his wife Lauren are linked to some of the most powerful and influential people in the world including the royal family of Monaco, Vogue's Anna Wintour and socialite Tinsley Mortimer.
Andres Santo Domingo is the son of Julio Mario Santo Domingo, a prominent patriarch from Colombia. During Andres Santo Domingo's childhood, he grew up in New York City attending St. Bernard's School and then went on to graduate from Hotchkiss School in Connecticut in 1996. Andres Santo Domingo earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature from Brown University.
In 2002, Mr. Santo Domingo co-founded Kemado Records, a record company based in Brooklyn, New York. The label focuses on digital and limited edition vinyl releases. Kemado records is a sister label to Mexican Summer which has seen success selling the 2009 release of "Crazy For You" by Best Coast which sold around 57,000 copies, 10,000 of which were LPs.
In 2008, Andres married Lauren Sant Domingo (Davis), the Creative Director and Co-Founder of luxury e-retailer Moda Operandi and a contributing editor of Vogue. Their wedding was featured in a 10-page spread in Vogue magazine. They have two children together and live in New York City.
As a supporter of a number of charitable organizations, including being a co-chair with his wife of a gala to benefit DKMS, the largest bone marrow donor center in the world. The global movement focuses on empowering people to take action, give bone marrow and save lives from blood cancer.
Andres Santo Domingo and Lauren Santo Domingo have also been on the host committees of the Conservation International’s 25th Anniversary Event a benefit to establish the Institute for Environmental Sustainability and Peace Exhibit, Turnaround for Children, the MoMA’s Costume Institute Event, the Urban Hoedown to benefit the Art Production Fund, the Second Annual Spring Soiree to benefit the Fortune Society, Christie’s Green Auction to benefit Conservation International, Oceans, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and the Central Park Conservancy.
When he's not working or spending time with his family, Andres and his wife help organize fund-raisers for Conservation International, a non-profit environmental organization which defends natural resources. Andres Santo Domingo was featured in The New York Times for his philanthropy.
In May 2013, Andres and his brother Alejandro attended the Conservation International's 16th annual dinner where a tribute was paid to their late father Julio Mario Santo Domingo. The organization awarded Mr. Santo Domingo with a posthumous Global Conservation Hero Award. He was introduced to CI by David Rockefeller Sr. and served on its board for seven years.
